eSimTrainerSM
Maximizing the operational performance of your mid-stream assets delivers newfound profitability. There is only one sure path to that profitability... well trained people. People who understand the process, can manage disturbances, and can effectively troubleshoot abnormal situations. This is the purpose of eSimTrainer... well-trained people who can deliver maximum profits.
eSimTrainer increases operator and engineering competency and reduces the time to achieve competency. eSimTrainer is web deployed to address the challenges of training a small number of operators at different locations and working on different shifts. Operators can move through the modular courses at their own pace and schedules. eSimTrainer courses are as follows:
- Cryogenic Gas Plant Course
- condensate stabilization
- amine treating and regeneration
- glycol dehydration and regeneration
- turbo-expander, demethanizer, and residue compression
The course goes through various levels of complexity for recovery mode operation and concludes with a fully heat integrated cryogenic unit with sub-cooled reflux operating in rejection mode.
- Propane Refrigeration (Dewpoint) Course
- condensate stabilization
- amine treating and regeneration
- glycol dehydration and regeneration
- propane refrigeration plants.
- Fractionation Course
- SRU/Amine Treating Course
eSimTrainer courses
- Orientation Module introduces course material and and explains importancy of course Resource material.
- Overview of Gas Processing Module teaches the role of gas processing plants in the overall energy supply chain. It also overviews the gas processing facility from inlet treating through compression.
- Operational Analysis Tools Module teaches the student how to use RWD-developed tools (Resources) that convey difficult process, operational, and troubleshooting concepts that are used throughout the course. Most importantly, these Resources are then made available to help operators with their everyday operations and troubleshooting activities.
- Fundamental Concepts Module gives the operator a core understanding of concepts that must be understood to manage the plant including principles like sensible and latent heat, pressure-temperature-composition relationships, distillation, and gas compression operation.
- Operations and Control Module teaches operators and engineers through a series of "what-if" exercises. Operators are presented with a change in one parameter in the process and must figure out how the rest of the process will respond to this change. Several layers of feedback mechanisms are provided to show the operator the correct answers after the operator has made their selection.
- Troubleshooting Module teaches the operator a unique troubleshooting methodology to solve real world problems. This knowledge is reinforced through a series of troubleshooting exercises that present the operator with an abnormal situation and asks them to identify the root cause.
eSimTrainer value
- Training can take place during "free time," whenever that occurs (at any time of the day or night)
- Provides structured interactive learning specifically targeted for operations
- Embedded knowledge checks to give the student constant feedback
- Maximizes operator competency in a minimum amount of time
- Training is focused on improving process knowledge
- Maintains a competency database. Operators can repeat the course to maintain their credentials
- Improves troubleshooting skills so operators use the best recovery strategy more quickly - resulting in less disruption of production goals
- Supports OSHA 1910 compliance regulations (PSM rule)
- Supports reduced manned operations strategy
- Reduces safety and environmental risk
- Helps bring newer operators to the level of your most accomplished operators
- Helps make your accomplished operators exceptional performers
